5 Years at TransferMate - Interview with Rose O’Kane

This month we caught up with TransferMate's Rose O’Kane, PMO Lead who has been on our team for the last 5 years.

What is your favorite thing about working in CluneTech / TransferMate?

The best part about working in CluneTech and TransferMate is the people. Everyone is self-disciplined and motivated towards the growth of the company. This is very evident and makes it a pleasure to work with everyone and to achieve business requirements.

What has been your biggest achievement or highlight since joining CluneTech / TransferMate?

Being nominated for employee of the year early on and being a part of consistent successful ISO 27001 accreditation audits across the group.

What is the biggest change that you have witnessed in your time here?

The biggest change I have witnessed is the massive growth of TransferMate from a small start-up in its first year when I joined, to the world’s leading B2B global payments infrastructure as-a-service platform.

What is the greatest challenge that you have faced in your time here and how did you overcome it?

My greatest challenge that I faced when I first joined the InfoSec team was the staggering pace and forensic level of detail required to support the rapid growth of a soon to be global payments infrastructure service. The rate of change continues to accelerate. I overcame it by developing scalable training runbooks, having a daily disciplined must do list and being very organized.

What has been your favorite task or project to work on?

Currently I am enjoying scaling the recertification's program across the group of companies within CluneTech. These quarterly audits are carried out as part of a wider process to ensure we retain ISO 27001 and SOC2 certification. This accreditation supports each business in the group to demonstrate cybersecurity, privacy, and trust to prospective and current customers and within the international payments industry, which in turn helps towards business expansion.

Do you have advice for someone who is just starting their career in CluneTech / TransferMate?

My advice would be to become very organized, plan all activities in advance for compliance and BAU (Business As Usual) tasks and develop training runbooks so that you can onboard your team quickly to support business scaling and growth.
